How to calculate time clock hours? ›

To calculate the rounded time, add 7 to the actual minute the employee clocks in or out. Divide the result by 15 and round it to the nearest whole number. Multiply the rounded result by 15 to get the final rounded time.

For example, 2:00 p.m. is 14:00 in military time (2 + 12 = 14). Add up the total hours an employee worked each day. You can do this by subtracting the employee's start time from their end time for each workday. Make sure to subtract any non-compensable breaks (e.g., lunch).
