The Bowl-A-Thon for Liberty is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 21st at the Coal Creek Sports Center, 550 West South Boulder Road in Lafayette.
Anyone who wants to bowl and raise funds for the Libertarian Party of Boulder County can do so. Bowlers will be responsible for paying their bowling costs and shoe fees; each bowler will be expected to have at least one pledge of at least a penny per pin before participating (bowlers may sponsor themselves).
As many as 20 bowlers can be accommodated on the four reserved lanes. Rental balls and shoes are available for those who do not own their own equipment.
Those who would like to participate in a way other than bowling may pledge to sponsor a bowler or may join the soliciting group that will try to raise pledges for bowlers.
Pledges will be calculated as follows: if a pledger pledges a penny per pin and the bowler bowls three games totalling 452 pins, then the pledger would pay $4.52 to the LPBC; if the pledge is two cents per pin, then the total would be $9.04, and so forth.
LPBC Chair Ron Bain will be leading a telephone and e-mail campaign to generate a maximum number of pledges. Those who would like to pledge to support any bowler (as opposed to a particular individual) or who want to assist in soliciting pledges, should contact Bain at (303) 443-9179 or rez2word@aol.com.
Let's have fun and raise funds for the Libertarian Party of Boulder County!
